Freeing up disk space by deleting system apps

to save precious ssd disk space, delete system apps in /applications. done since mavericks, no adverse side effects date. version tailored yosemite. i'm sure there plenty of ways available, here's take on it, since don't trust third parties cleanly , safely. in case helps else :).

(if it's not obvious how use link above, don't bother.)

didn't check how saved last time future use, script displays how got freed up. apps delete:
  • imovie
  • iphoto
  • garageband
  • keynote
  • pages
  • numbers
  • itunes
  • ibooks
the list of files , directories has been handcrafted after meticulous analysis of `find /` outputs. however, may incomplete if apps have been started once beforehand (cluttering ~/library/{containers,preferences}, maybe more). forks welcome ;).

app store quiet these apps except itunes, black sheep of bunch. keeps telling me there's update available (listed "software update") , download 218mb guess that's whole .app . not sure how handle yet.

side note: save more space, `sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 0 && sudo rm /var/vm/sleepimage` (never sleep disk, ram only). there's monolingual thing nasty, leaving bunch of files (worse, system services) behind it.

if not using apps, there's no harm system remove them.
