Mac Mini Mid 2010 RAM Question

hi guys,

setting mid 2010 mini build server small ios project. running yosemite (10.10.1) , needs run xcode 6 / os x server can set build bots.

project strapped money wanted check if can run single 4gb dimm now, option of second 4gb dimm later if need ?

rocking 2gb right desperately needs @ least 4gb able function properly. :)
 

yes, replace 1 of 1gb modules 4gb module, giving total of 5gb. replace other 1gb module @ later time.

New 2014 Mac Mini as living room media unit... general questions :)

hi everyone, relatively new apple world (came on android/windows) can impressed , happy made switch hoping insight experts here new setup. got new 2014 mini our living room media unit (will playing music, netflix, movies, internet browsing etc) - havent hooked yet. have 2 bookshelf speakers, 1 sub woofer, , center speaker sound setup goes avr, , of course flat screen tv. 1) question -- mini support 2.1 sound via hdmi avr? losing audio quality or audio features using mac mini? 2) internet browsing, there app or interface make ui better fit living room tv? i've read font/icons can hard read if enlarge them because mac mini not meant big tv? 3) plan plex server , plex media player mac mini, other loading movie/tv collection , playing off tv, there else cool missing here can this? 4) if have mac mini media unit, there purpose in owning roku @ point? thank you!!   ...
