Apple TV 3 A1427 (2012) vs A1469 (2013) WiFi Reception?

searching didn't turn informative on whether there noticeable difference in wifi reception between original 2012 apple tv 3 , 2013 revision, other anandtech review shows no real change. given possibility of sample variation, i'm wondering if noticed differences between 2 versions? have opportunity buy 2012 version other things being equal rather buy 1 new or buy refurb apple warranty.

there's not warranty, no moving parts, , while electrical components can die, haven't seen in forums dead units.

there recall on atv 3 units due wifi issues. had 1 go out before recall came out, wi-fi dies.

if you're getting discount on 2012 version, i'd go that, if/when next version comes out, won't out much.

New 2014 Mac Mini as living room media unit... general questions :)

hi everyone, relatively new apple world (came on android/windows) can impressed , happy made switch hoping insight experts here new setup. got new 2014 mini our living room media unit (will playing music, netflix, movies, internet browsing etc) - havent hooked yet. have 2 bookshelf speakers, 1 sub woofer, , center speaker sound setup goes avr, , of course flat screen tv. 1) question -- mini support 2.1 sound via hdmi avr? losing audio quality or audio features using mac mini? 2) internet browsing, there app or interface make ui better fit living room tv? i've read font/icons can hard read if enlarge them because mac mini not meant big tv? 3) plan plex server , plex media player mac mini, other loading movie/tv collection , playing off tv, there else cool missing here can this? 4) if have mac mini media unit, there purpose in owning roku @ point? thank you!!   ...
