Fan over working and beach ball issue

i use macbook pro 13'' 2011 running os x 10.9.5. fans have been on working no reason, no programs take ram on activity monitor. beach balls , system freezes follow shortly after fan starts running.
mac overheats fans kick in followed beach balls, there no app running cause on heat, seems happen itself.
upgraded ram 4 gb 8 gb, booted in safe mode, ran apple hardware tests, cleaned caches onyx , repaired disk permission still persists. ideas on , how stop it?

you mentioned looking @ ram usage in activity monitor, did @ cpu tab? sort cpu% , see if chewing cpu cycles there.
