Dual Monitor/Sleep Issue

long story short, after upgrading yosemite cannot put computer sleep , wake 2 monitors on , connected. have spent hours on phone, , been apple store twice trying resolve issue. replaced the: 5400 hd, logic board, , ssd in computer trying resolve , when brought home 2nd time last night still having same issues. when put computer sleep , wake computer inoperable. cannot click anything, computer frozen.

work around:
way can make mini , sleep work to: step 1) turn 2nd monitor on, 2) put mini sleep, 3) wake mini up, 4) turn 2nd monitor on.

apple getting call later can report bug directly.
 

i don't think hardware issue.
think second display issue 10.10.

read lot of complains issue, have yet find or solution. , solution very very welcome.

if has right solution.


* use external 3rd party display connected thunderbolt connector. mbp 2011 in clamshell mode. freeze me inconsistent. in time , appearance.

New 2014 Mac Mini as living room media unit... general questions :)

hi everyone, relatively new apple world (came on android/windows) can impressed , happy made switch hoping insight experts here new setup. got new 2014 mini our living room media unit (will playing music, netflix, movies, internet browsing etc) - havent hooked yet. have 2 bookshelf speakers, 1 sub woofer, , center speaker sound setup goes avr, , of course flat screen tv. 1) question -- mini support 2.1 sound via hdmi avr? losing audio quality or audio features using mac mini? 2) internet browsing, there app or interface make ui better fit living room tv? i've read font/icons can hard read if enlarge them because mac mini not meant big tv? 3) plan plex server , plex media player mac mini, other loading movie/tv collection , playing off tv, there else cool missing here can this? 4) if have mac mini media unit, there purpose in owning roku @ point? thank you!!   ...
