iMac Newbie

hi guys got 5k imac , set up. i'm newbie , little lost...

think tho i've managed set , stopped imessages pinging on mac...think anyway when imessage messages app pops open or dot appears under on mac.

can prevent happening?

anyway main thing want mac photos , videos of little ones growing up. (ok expensive way of doing wanted mac , justification)

what's best me use this? adobe photoshop , final cut pro or imovie capable on mac? have used on ipad etc.

else need apps/software point of view? yes work on @ times realise need office windows.

have seen threads on here re anti virus protection etc , fair confused revisit thread soon.

next step upgrade memory 16gb ordered standard 8gb

advice appreciated , apologies silly novice questions may ask in future :thumbsup:
 

you can either run windows on mac, either in boot camp or through virtualization app parallels, or can opt office mac, quite compatible. there number of other alternatives, such iwork, open office, etc.

macs not immune malware, no true viruses exist in wild can run on mac os x, , there never have been since released on 12 years ago. malware in wild can affect mac os x handful of trojans, can avoided practicing safe computing (see below). 3rd party antivirus apps not necessary keep mac malware-free, long user practices safe computing, described in following link.

for uses described, it's unlikely you'll ever use as 8gb, buying more ram waste of money.

Error installing Key Agent drivers in Windows 7

i reinstalled fresh bootcamp (windows 7 x64) on imac running yosemite. i'm having difficulty installing drivers, had first bypass issue x64bit drivers running through cmd admin errors "service 'key agent/mac hal' (keyagent/machaldrivers) failed start. verify have sufficient privileges start system services." have tried following instructions seemed answer this: i had exact same problem, on 17" mbp. in case, win7 event manager reported bootcamp 3.2 services failed install, in particular keyagent service (and without no apple keyboard , functions , apparently bootcamp icon doesn't show in system tray). event manager said bootcamp installer did not have sufficient permissions, went dial down user account control (uac) settings (in fact, turned off). should have seen when bootcamp 3.2 update running window ask permission continue (allow software install). instead, there silent failure. ok, turning off uac gives p
