Printer/scanner/fax compatability

so have mba. have samsung scanner/fax/printer. samsung works great pc, not mac.
downloaded newest driver (prob yosemite) added on 11/14.
it's difficult 2 work flawless pc hookup. can scan 10 pages , have file setup , ready fax or print or email in 20seconds pc literally takes 20min machine using mac.
suggestions better setups won't break bank. not caring fax scan (prefer feed , flatbed) , print quality.

New 2014 Mac Mini as living room media unit... general questions :)

hi everyone, relatively new apple world (came on android/windows) can impressed , happy made switch hoping insight experts here new setup. got new 2014 mini our living room media unit (will playing music, netflix, movies, internet browsing etc) - havent hooked yet. have 2 bookshelf speakers, 1 sub woofer, , center speaker sound setup goes avr, , of course flat screen tv. 1) question -- mini support 2.1 sound via hdmi avr? losing audio quality or audio features using mac mini? 2) internet browsing, there app or interface make ui better fit living room tv? i've read font/icons can hard read if enlarge them because mac mini not meant big tv? 3) plan plex server , plex media player mac mini, other loading movie/tv collection , playing off tv, there else cool missing here can this? 4) if have mac mini media unit, there purpose in owning roku @ point? thank you!!   ...
