Need mach_kernal

i have osx maverick 10.9.5 installed on imac. using ccc, tried copy hdd external hdd, told me not bootable because source drive (on imac) doesnt have file, mach_kernal. how can rectify problem? possible download osx 10.9.5 again, , if so, re-install fix problem? in advance.

first, please search on computer make *sure* mach_kernel missing (i believe kernel spelled "e" double check that). don't know if spotlight find it, know on computer, use application called, "find file," instead of spotlight. searched computer mach_kernel , found in root of hard drive.

can find (if there) launching terminal, , typing in following (copy , paste it) , substitute "your_hard_drive_name" name of hard drive. if you've named hard drive "hard drive" or word space in it, sure put "escape slash" before space, this: hard\ drive

so, if name of hard drive macintosh hard drive, this:

cd /volumes/macintosh\ hard\ drive

type:
ls -ainrst

big list appear. towards top should "mach_kernel" looking for.

if not there, use find file search elses computer. if find have mach_kernel, sure write letter apple , ask permission them copy friend's computer computer before so. if write , can copy friend's computer, copy , put supposed go, , should fine. :d
