upgrade to yosemite or clean install

hey guys wondering better,

upgrade yosemite mavericks

or clean install yosemite

i've got 1tb hdd , on 600gb of data on this, have several backups spread across several externals, although ever since consolidating data onto 1 computer i've accumulated several gigs of data on time not backed up, forgot files though.


want upgrade yosemite i'm not sure if worth risk, don't want go through installing , restoring files on again.

i'm hoping installing on mavericks won't make system slower :(
 

simply upgraded, install perfect. nothing's slower or glitched @ all.
however, if you're being adrien monk it, go clean install. :rolleyes:

New 2014 Mac Mini as living room media unit... general questions :)

hi everyone, relatively new apple world (came on android/windows) can impressed , happy made switch hoping insight experts here new setup. got new 2014 mini our living room media unit (will playing music, netflix, movies, internet browsing etc) - havent hooked yet. have 2 bookshelf speakers, 1 sub woofer, , center speaker sound setup goes avr, , of course flat screen tv. 1) question -- mini support 2.1 sound via hdmi avr? losing audio quality or audio features using mac mini? 2) internet browsing, there app or interface make ui better fit living room tv? i've read font/icons can hard read if enlarge them because mac mini not meant big tv? 3) plan plex server , plex media player mac mini, other loading movie/tv collection , playing off tv, there else cool missing here can this? 4) if have mac mini media unit, there purpose in owning roku @ point? thank you!!   ...
