OS Neutral Minecraft and Mac Laptops

hi guys,

it's 10 days out christmas , 10 year old has decided he'd new-to-him mac laptop skyping , playing minecraft. he's playing on old 13" white macbook (i think it's 2009, i'm not @ home check specs). anyway, he's complaining of lag, when tries capture video while playing friends.

of course wants "let's play" youtube channel.

if gets new laptop, used... won't spend more $400. in mind, can give me specs should looking for? i've scanned minecraft forums on topic, of discussions become "why want buy crap mac when pcs cost less , made gaming?" rant fests, not helpful. boy wants mac , want 1 work best him, within our budget...

googling, looks should looking macbook pro, @ least 2gb of ram, highest processing rate can find/afford, , nvidia graphics card... guys agree? seems ssd drive better, don't think i'm going find in our price range, used...

oh, also... imac out of question in terms of running minecraft? saw couple of 17" imacs in our price range (not sure of specs) might consider, haven't seen discuss running minecraft on them.

in advance helpful input! :)
 

i suspect around same price point, imac outperform laptop (room faster desktop components) more reliable (due better cooling). macbooks have bit of history when comes reliability of discrete video hardware.

Error installing Key Agent drivers in Windows 7

i reinstalled fresh bootcamp (windows 7 x64) on imac running yosemite. i'm having difficulty installing drivers, had first bypass issue x64bit drivers running through cmd admin errors "service 'key agent/mac hal' (keyagent/machaldrivers) failed start. verify have sufficient privileges start system services." have tried following instructions seemed answer this: i had exact same problem, on 17" mbp. in case, win7 event manager reported bootcamp 3.2 services failed install, in particular keyagent service (and without no apple keyboard , functions , apparently bootcamp icon doesn't show in system tray). event manager said bootcamp installer did not have sufficient permissions, went dial down user account control (uac) settings (in fact, turned off). should have seen when bootcamp 3.2 update running window ask permission continue (allow software install). instead, there silent failure. ok, turning off uac gives p
