Black screen no chime

you may have seen other post talk swapping out displays 8,1 imac 7,1 went ahead , swapped on screens ( , while @ dvd drive 2008 bit better)

first of put 'bad' mac (with fans spinning , suspected bad logic board).

fired , still fans spinning booted fine straight yosemite albeit yellowy screen happy @ point...

goes wrong

reassembled 7,1 odd , display 8,1 id swapped...

doesn't boot or chime, fans spin @ slow speed have 3 leds of 4 lit

read online psu fault... not stole otherone test...

im @ real loss having 2 decent imacs less week ago have none great?
 

just swapped graphics cards between 8,1 , 7,1 8,1 boots fine 7,1 has 3 leds on still :( im stuck don't know whats left except logic board don't understand how break disconnecting lcd tem sensor , lvds cable :(

have 2 imacs looks of both bad logic boards :( ideas else try?

New 2014 Mac Mini as living room media unit... general questions :)

hi everyone, relatively new apple world (came on android/windows) can impressed , happy made switch hoping insight experts here new setup. got new 2014 mini our living room media unit (will playing music, netflix, movies, internet browsing etc) - havent hooked yet. have 2 bookshelf speakers, 1 sub woofer, , center speaker sound setup goes avr, , of course flat screen tv. 1) question -- mini support 2.1 sound via hdmi avr? losing audio quality or audio features using mac mini? 2) internet browsing, there app or interface make ui better fit living room tv? i've read font/icons can hard read if enlarge them because mac mini not meant big tv? 3) plan plex server , plex media player mac mini, other loading movie/tv collection , playing off tv, there else cool missing here can this? 4) if have mac mini media unit, there purpose in owning roku @ point? thank you!!   ...
